Fedot

Fedot
Fedot m
Russian: from Greek Theodotos, composed of the elements theos God + dotos given. This name, like the related Theodoros and Theodosius, was popular among early Christians because of its auspicious sense, and was borne by several saints of the first century AD. The most famous (d. 304) was an innkeeper in Ancyra who was executed under Diocletian for having given Christian burial to the seven virgin martyrs Thecusa, Alexandra, Claudia, Phaina, Euphrasia, Matrona, and Julitta.
